Conference on Renewable Energy Resources

The 5th International Conference on Renewable Energy Resources for a Sustainable Future was held at SKIT, the Swami Keshvanand Institute of Technology, Management and Gramothan, Jaipur.

In recognition of a lifelong contribution to renewable energy, sustainability and global environmental awareness, the institute awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award for Outstanding Contribution to Renewable Energy in Rajasthan to Golo J. Pilz, Adviser of Renewable Energy to the Brahma Kumaris, Mount Abu.

Golo Pilz has travelled to more than 75 countries, promoting sustainable solutions through ethical, value-based approaches. An experienced Brahma Kumaris meditation teacher, he founded the IndiaCare Trust in 1989, and has pioneered renewable energy projects, including India One Solar Thermal Power Plant - a landmark project, brought about by collaboration between the Indian and German governments.

At his keynote speech, Golo emphasized that innovations for the future must be based on the combination of faith, ethics and technology. He said: When we meditate, when we cultivate silence and awareness, we begin to feel the sacredness of nature. Then renewable energy is no longer a technical project – it becomes a spiritual express of the respect for all life”.
