Dadi Hirdaya Mohini, known as Dadi Gulzar, served as the Administrative Head of Brahma Kumaris for the past year. She passed on March 11, the Indian holy day of Shiv Jayanti. Her name means “The one who attracts the heart”. It fit her well. Popularly known as Gulzar (“rose garden”), she was one of the original members of the boarding school set up in 1937 by Brahma Baba, founder of the organization. She came to the Brahma Kumaris at age 9 and Brahma Baba quickly saw that she had a gift of deep silence and insight. He soon moved her from the children’s quarters to the building where he stayed with his family, so that her special gifts could be cultivated.
